Why we can not live more than 120 years old?

porque no podemos pasar los 120 anios de edad

Humans cannot currently live beyond the age of 120 due to biological and physiological limitations. There are several theories and factors that contribute to why human lifespan is limited:

Cellular Aging: Over time, cells experience damage and wear and tear, leading to a decline in function and eventually death.

Telomere Shortening: Telomeres, the protective caps on the ends of chromosomes, shorten as we age and eventually stop cells from dividing, leading to cellular aging and death.

Accumulation of Genetic Mutations: Over time, mutations in our DNA accumulate, leading to a decline in cellular function and increased risk of age-related diseases.

Free Radical Damage: Free radicals are unstable molecules that can damage cells and contribute to aging and age-related diseases.

Inflammation: Chronic inflammation can damage cells and contribute to aging and age-related diseases.

Hormonal Changes: Hormonal changes as we age can contribute to a decline in function and increased risk of age-related diseases.

Environmental Factors: Exposure to environmental toxins, poor diet, lack of physical activity, and other lifestyle factors can accelerate the aging process and increase the risk of age-related diseases.

While scientists are making progress in understanding the aging process and developing interventions to extend lifespan, it remains a complex and multi-faceted phenomenon, and the maximum lifespan for humans remains around 120 years
